WOW Online question by : Lord of the rings online vs wow?
I play wow but looking for soemthing new.
I’m sick of teh cartoonishness of wow, and im sick of the end game grind fest and extremely poor pvp.
Can i get some descriptions of LOTR online from current players and tell me if it has anything i may be interested in.

I have played a lot of different MMORPGs and WoW does it the best. If you go from WoW to any other your going to be disappointed.
If you want to change your MMO you could try Warhammer online its not the same as WoW but its close.

LOTR Online actually isn’t that good. Its rather boring and repetative.Check up Gamespot,They have a good list of MMOs on there.
I’ve played both fairly extensively. WoW is very polished, and has some great PvE, it’s a huge world and ever expanding, but for me it got old.
LOTRO has great PvE as well ( limited pvp), the world in my opinion is more believable, the quest are unique and you’ve some interesting story lines.
The player classes fit the lore well (aside from maybe rune keeper, but they’re fun) and tend to be varied and different.
The achievements (that LOTRO had way before WoW) keep the game interesting, since when you earn a trait you actually get a stat boost. Some of these are not easy to find, which makes them all the cooler. Lotro might be slow to start, and your guy will generally not look super awesome until about level 30.
LOTRO also boast a fairly robust crafting system if that’s your thing.
With Moria released not to long ago, and Mirkwood expansion on the horizon I don’t think LOTRO is going anywhere. Though a recognizably smaller community than WoW, I’d say LOTRO players are generally pretty helpful. I’ve also read that LOTRO seems to be rising in population, which for an MMO these days, is rare.

I thought LOTR-Online just didn’t have sufficient content to keep me interested. I lasted less than 2 months playing that game. Going on year 4 with WoW.
