| Description: | At home in the shadows and skilled at disappearing from sight, the Rogues of Azeroth are most comfortable when acting in the background. Twisting events to their favor, striking only when advantage is greatest: this is where a Rogue excels. With their cunning tricks, physical abilities, and mastery of concealment and disguise, Rogues have no trouble finding employment as thieves, cutthroats, spies, and assassins.
From the October Issue of CGW: Your standard stealthy rogue, but the most damaging in direct offense; Warriors are the tanks that can take damage, but rogues are the one who deliver damage. In addition to a bunch of slick attack moves (backstab, swift strikes, sap/knockouts), rogues can also poison their weapons (either enhancing ther damage or adding damage-over-time effects) and use disguises to get past enemies. Armor: Leather only. |

At home in the shadows and skilled at disappearing from sight, the Rogues of Azeroth are most comfortable when acting in the background. Twisting events to their favor, striking only when advantage is greatest: this is where a Rogue excels. With their cunning tricks, physical abilities, and mastery of concealment and disguise, Rogues have no trouble finding employment as thieves, cutthroats, spies, and assassins. Without question, Rogues are the melee damage dealer of World of Warcraft. Rogues sacrifice the same level of defense that Warriors enjoy, in exchange for a boost in damage output through skills like backstab and swift strikes. They can also coat their weapons in poisons, further topping up their damage potential. Stealth is an integral part of the Rogue's abilities in both PvE and PvP. Combat for a Rogue is based highly on filling a set of 5 'bubbles' which correspond to the particular enemy they are fighting. To fill the bubbles, the rogue must perform 'opening moves' such as Backstab or Sinister Strike. While these opening moves are very powerful on their own, they pale in comparison to the 'finishing moves' that can be used when the bubbles are lit. Current examples include Kidney Shot (high damage plus a stun effect), Eviscerate (extreme damage), and Rupture (damage over time effect), with the move scaling in power according to how many bubbles were lit when it is used. After the use of a finishing move, all lit bubbles will become unlit. Changing the target enemy during combat will also cause all lit bubbles to be lost. Another impressive form of attack in the Rogue's arsenal comes with their stealth and the abilities that correspond to it. First, stealth for Rogues in WoW is based on a detection system determined by player skills. According to the skills of the Rogue and the detect level of other players or mobs, the Rogue can be either completely invisible or display varying levels of transparency. A Rogue can also pickpocket NPCs; however, any loot that they receive from such comes from a separately generated loot pool designed specifically for pickpocketing.
