Priest
Class: Priest
Description: Priests lead the many faiths spread throughout the disparate lands of the world of Azeroth. In Kalimdor, Night Elf Priestesses revere the moon goddess Elune, while Dwarven priests in Khaz Modan deliver the message of the Light to their people. In the ruins of Lordaeron, the undead priests of the Forsaken, their faith twisted and tainted by their tortured existences, spread a dark interpretation of the Holy Light. Regardless of their faith, however, all Priests share in their ability to manipulate the minds of those who turn to them for spiritual guidance.

From the October Issue of CGW: These guys are different from tradition clerics, typically chainmail-wearing badasses that heal. Priests can only wear cloth armor, but their spells are based on messing with your targets mind. Besides being the best Healer and buffer in the game, the other priest powers (into either Shadow or Holy magic) make him seem more like an inquisitor than a medicine cabinet. Priests use Shadow/Holy Words, wich are instant-cast and include : Dominate (make your enemy become our pet), Confusion (stops attacking), and Fumble (causes your opponent to miss). Armor: Cloth only

When casting, spells being cast are not interrupted unless the attack is specifically designed to interrupt the spells. However, if the priest is hit while casting, a spell will be delayed.

Priests get Mind Control spells that allow the priest to control their enemies.
Mesmerize allows the priest to entrance one enemy. They cannot Mesmerize more than one enemy at a time.
Dominate allows the priest to ?take control? of an enemy. He essentially possesses the body and has all that creatures abilities available to him. The drawback is that he suffers the inability to control his own body while dominating.

Holy Magic appears to be a line of healing spells for the priest.
Shadow Magic gives the priest the ability to do direct damage and damage over time spells.
Holy Word Shield will allow the priest to channel magic through melee and cast spells without delays.
Priest can also Resurrect other players, and has Sight abilities which allow the priest to see distances up close and scout out areas to some degree.

Priests are the forerunner in World of Warcraft when it comes to healing and buffing. In addition, they can use either Holy or Shadow Magic to affect the minds of their opponents with spells such as Psychic Scream, which will cause enemies to flee, Mind Soothe, which reduces the range at which the target will attack, and Mind Control, which allows the Priest to control a humanoid enemy. Priests will also be able to use "Words" which are instant cast spells. Shadow Magic and Holy Magic also provide various buffs and damage spells. Priests also have some very powerful heals and get the ability to resurrect players at higher levels. The only downside at present is the fact that they wear cloth armor.

Holy Magic

Holy Magic is primarily used for healing and to increase characteristics like endurance and casting power, but also includes a damaging spell line. The Priest can use Holy Words, such as Shield, which absorbs damage to the target, and Fortitude, which increases stamina. Lesser Heal, Heal, Flash Heal, Prayer of Healing, Greater Heal, and Renew are all used for healing the Priest or his or her allies. The Priest also can cast buffs like Inner Fire, which increases attack power, and Holy Protection, which increases resistance to Holy spells. Holy Smite can be used to deal Holy damage to an enemy. Other miscellaneous spells include Resurrection, which brings players back form the dead, Nullify Disease, which cures disease and gives immunity, Shackle Undead, which shackles one undead opponent at a time, and Dispell Magic, which removes harmful spells from an ally or beneficial spells from an enemy.

Shadow Magic

Shadow Magic is used mainly for offense. Spells like Mind Blast and Shadow Word: Pain, can be used to cause damage to an opponent. Mind Soothe, Fade, and Brainwash alter an enemy's threat level or attack distance, reducing the chance that it will attack the Priest. Other offensive spells include Psychic Scream, which causes enemies to flee, and Mana Burn, which causes damage and drains mana from an enemy. Shadow Magic also includes a buff, Shadow Protection, which increases resistance to Shadow Spells. Finally, a utility spell called Mind Vision allows the Priest to see through the eyes of his or her target.
